The Classical Hollywood style seeks to be "invisible." What does this mean? I need a description of the characteristics of the "invisible" style of Hollywood filmmaking. If you could include references to stylistic features including mise-en-scene, the shot, and editing and the narrative features that would be great.
The Production Code was designed to control the content of Hollywood movies. How did it accomplish this? Could you provide specific examples from films that were affected by the Code?
