Problem
A married woman in New York was receiving numerous phone calls from an "admirer" who was attempting to lure her into an adulterous relationship by suggesting "obscene" sexual acts. At that time New York had no statute that made the behavior of the man a crime. The woman was quite upset.
In New York, could the man be charged with some type of criminal offense? What if this had occurred in a federal jurisdiction? What about other states if the act had occurred within that jurisdictions?
