Core competencies are essential to every profession, including judgment, initiative and creativity. In certain fields, integrity is also paramount. Let's face it, if employees are not ethical or dignified many issues may develop. In law enforcement, officers are trusted with money, narcotics, personal property and lives. If you cannot trust officers, it is a sad state.
