Corbett Energy Company is a hydrofracking company operating in Pennsylvania. In September of this year they performed a typical hydrofracking process by pumping a cocktail of water, diesel fuel, and 135 toxic chemicals under high pressure to beak apart underground rock and release natural gas.
Three miles down the road from the gas well a water well exploded. In the water of the water well was found large amounts of diesel fuel, methane, and butane.
The gas well was drilled in a reasonable manner in the best scientific process available.
Is anyone responsible for the water well? If so, under what legal theory?
