Both Tal Fortgang and Roxanne Gay write about the term privilege in their essays. Fortgang's essay was quite provocative when it was published (and you may have had a strong reaction to it when you read it, too). Gay's article serves as a counterbalance to Fortgang's , and it's also an example of the sort of injunction that Fortgang resents.
1. Compare and contrast Fortgang's and Gay's definitions of "privilege." Who do you think has the better definition of "privilege"?
