Assignment task: Paraphrase. Citizens need to be diligent in continuing to focus on taming the state of the country. Some examples in our government illustrating the need for citizens to do so can be seen through voting, protesting, and even democracy itself. Voting gives people the power to choose whom they want to govern their country. It allows citizens a space for their beliefs, thoughts, and opinions to rise while remaining in a private and safe space while voting. It gives power to the people and lets them decide whom they think is most fit to be in power. Another example is protesting. As stated in the First Amendment, people have the freedom of expression and speech. Protesting allows people to fight for their rights, opinion and express themselves even if it may usually get out of hand. Lastly, democracy itself allows citizens to have a say in their country and gives somewhat of power to make the decisions or at least make their voice heard on what will happen. These current examples of our government help tame society and give power to other diverse people rather than just one who can use it for his or her benefit and exploit others.
