Cerner Corporation recently presented their vision of future hospital rooms: more technology to improve medical efficiency and decrease the chance of human error. In addition to a system that scans staff IDs and a monitor that displays all relevant patient medical information, another consideration is the size of the room. Suppose a random sample of existing hospital rooms was obtained, and the amount of square feet per patient in each room was measured. Each room was classified by location and type, and the data are given in the following table.
a. Construct the ANOVA summary table. Is there any evidence of an effect due to interaction of location and hospital room type? Use a = 0.05.
b. Is there any evidence of an effect due to location or hospital room type? Use a = 0.05 for both hypothesis tests. State your conclusions.
c. Does this analysis suggest there is one combination of location and room type which is on average the smallest in square feet per patient? If so, what is the location and room type?
