• Use the special occasion speech outline as a flexible guide for constructing your speech--you can mix and match to make it flow. Strict adherence to a specific outline is not what is needed for the special occasion speech (as opposed to the informative speech).
• The (i) nature of the occasion and (ii) audience are two keys to consider for the special occasion speech.
