Below, please find the final exam questions, both are required.
Question 1: Your friend knows nothing about civil rights in the US and asks you to help develop his understanding for a class assignment. In doing so, you write down some key concepts and issues associated with the development of civil rights in the US and the protections afforded by those.
Consider the history of civil rights here, the pivotal decisions that we have made, who is protected, who should not be in you view, all based on your understanding of what US civil rights includes and omits.
This is a difficult task, most political science questions begin with broad issues and require us to narrow those to the factors that we and society value most. Give examples to support your thinking, including cases, legislation and executive action.
Limit your responses to two pages, double spaced, one inch margins and twelve point font. Please provide a hard copy and submit an electronic copy via Blackboard course messenger. The exam is due by 12:00 PM, Wednesday, May 3'd and can be dropped off at my office located at 2095 ASC.
Question 2: Please discuss at least two ways that we have consented to be regulated by our governments-federal, state and local. Cite specific behaviors, concepts, rationales and outcomes for such regulation of us, the citizenry.
