Consider the comment on page 48 of the Schaefer text, paragraph 6, lines  1-3 which indicates that education does reduce prejudice, at least  temporarily.   Overall, Schaefer (2012) indicates that education does  help improve racial tolerance (pg. 49, lines 1-3) of which prejudice is a  fundamental characteristic.  A criticism of education is that people  learn to not be so open with their prejudice beliefs and discriminatory  behaviors (Schaefer, 2012, p. 49, lines 9-10).  Education is not a  temporary fix at all, but is one of many prongs of attack that must be  in place (Schaefer, 2012, pg. 48, paragraph 6, lines 4-10).  What other  things need or should be in place to provide a more comprehensive attack  to reduce prejudice and increase racial tolerance?
