Consider preparing a buffer solution by bubbling 064 mols

10a. Consider preparing a buffer solution by bubbling 0.64 mols of H3N(g) into 250 mL of 1.28 M HONO2. Calculate [H3O+] and pH for this solution. Show all pertinent work including equations for any B/L A/B reactions which occurred on solution preparation.

b. Now calculate the volume (to two SF) of 0.96 M NaOH which must be added to this buffer to raise pH by 0.60 pH units. Show all pertinent work including equations for any B/L A/B reactions which occurred during the addition of the NaOH solution to the buffer solution. (Hint: The answer is in the range of 150 mL to 300 mL).

c. Finally, calculate pH if the original solution (as made in a) had been treated with 0.62 mols HCL 9g) (rather than the NaOH solution in b). Show all pertinent work. (Note: B/L A/B EQ need not be considered to answer this).
