Consider a C-R Grashof 4-bar mechanism with dimensions of your choice, as indicated in the sketch below (no scale). For a full rotation of the crank link (link 2) draw the path generated by point P on the coupler link. In order to do this, you must use a computer program (MATLAB, or Excel spread sheet, or any other program of your choice) to calculate the X-Y position of point P, for any angle of rotation of the input link, and the velocity of point P. with X-Y components and magnitude. You are expected to turn in the following:
a) Front page with your Name and Section. Course name and Date of Submittal.
b) Print your program or spread sheet with equations spelled out. (Use 2 to 5 deg. increments for 02)
c) Path (Y vs. X) of point P and position in the X-Y Plane
a. Plot Y vs. X
b. Plot X vs. 02
c. Plot Y vs. 02
d) Plot the mechanism for at least 4 different positions (in different quadrants for link 2), showing the position of all the links.
e) Compare your results from points d and e above and make a statement as to how they compare.
f) Include in your assignment the program code (not the printout of tables produced by the program)
Repeat all the previous steps for a Non-Grashof Mechanism with dimensions of your choice (illustrate).
