Assignment Problem: Suppose you recently received a big grant and as a part of grant you are interested in comparing the effects of family socio-economic status (rich v/s poor) on the high school students' achievement in national science achievement test. First, you randomly select 12 students from each of the treatment group, i.e., rich and poor. Next, you assess high school students' achievement in national science achievement test by using a 50 item test. You also have access to the students' IQ scores. You wish to determine whether or not group mean differences in national science achievement test scores are statistically different for two treatment groups when controlling for intelligence. Test the appropriate hypotheses by conducting the appropriate statistical test at α = .05.
