You have successfully graduated from Rutgers-Camden and started to work for . Because you loved the business policy course so much, you talked about the tools that you learned from the course to the top management team at the interview, especially the importance of analyzing external environment.
On a sunny day afternoon, however, you received an email from the CEO, titled "your professor sucks!" Clearly, the CEO reached out to Prof. Kato asking about the external analysis. She wrote back to her/him, attaching the article by M. Porter “The Five Competitive Forces That Shape Strategy,” saying that it was a great article and you should be able to help him/her further. The email reads, “I don’t have time to read through this, what &%^$ does she think? (the rest omitted due to the language)” Now you have to write back to the CEO about the following so that the CEO understands the importance of external analysis.
Tell him/her the purpose of the five forces analysis. In other words, what does the analysis result tell her/him? Remember, your CEO is already pretty upset, explain in a simple language so that she/he would understand what it does.
Conduct the PESTEL analysis on the industry (please tell me what your dream company is, and which industry it is). If the company engages in more than one industry, pick one. PLEASE do not forget to add your conclusion! (check what the purpose of this analysis is)
