Discuss the following:
I do believe there is a connection between ethical leadership and somebody's belief system and/or values. I believe that principles or values are something that can never die. Principles/Values have and will always go hand to hand with societies because they can't go away. However, some choose to have good values and some do not. It's your choice, your freewill that my faith teaches me. I know and most know that it is not right to steal or to lie and I will be the first to admit that I have broken my own values/principles in my life but my faith teaches me that we all do but I try to implement those principles or values in my life to the best of my ability. However, the business world is no different and I am a firm believer of the saying "you reap what you sow" and I am a firm believer that even in the business world, if you implement bad behavior or tactics to your business, you will ultimately not succeed. Our textbook states that "Some businesses know that meeting stakeholders' expectations is good business. When a company upholds ethical standards, consumers may conduct more business with the firm and the stockholders may benefit as well" (Lawrence, A. T. & Weber, J. 2011) this proves that if we conduct ourselves in an ethical manner, we will have a better chance of succeeding because most people or organizations want to conduct business will corporations that hold strong ethical/ value systems.
