Values are tied to culture; they don't operate in isolation. Values are critical, primarily because they compel our actions. In this regard, it is essential for us to observe the concept of values in the context of culture. To do this, I propose the studying and understanding of the intercultural communication.
One of the biggest agents in our world today is change. We are capable to examine change in various cultures by studying the values which drive these cultures. Some cultures are oriented to the past. This means that they value their experiences which make them mainly reluctant to change. Some cultures are oriented to the present; interested in daily living and welcomes change as it gradually takes place. Other cultures support an orientation to the future. Such cultures regard change optimistically as it sees possibilities for enhancement from both the past and present.
