Assignment:
Please read the question in the Forum and follow the instructions. The text describes the concept of "locus of control" which is developed over time. A person with an internal locus of control feels more empowered and is more likely to attempt to improve his/her condition or situation as a result of believing they have more control over their environment.
A person with an external locus of control feels he/she does not have much control over events and the environment; it is more influenced by others, fate, etc. Older persons (and I would suggest most of us) experience higher life satisfaction if they possess an internal locus of control. Question to Answer: What are some examples of providing choices and environments that promote an internal locus of control for older adults?
