Solve the following problem:

A component of a composite rocket motor case is subject to a state of stress σx = 10 MP a, σy = 5 MP a, σxy = 2.5 MP a. Use the material data for carbon-epoxy (AS4/3501-6) in Table . Using principal stress design, compute:

(a) The optimum fiber orientation

(b) The load factor α that can be tolerated for the lamina with optimum orientation, considering all possible modes of failure and a resistance factor ∅ = 1.0.

(c) The resistance factor ∅ that can be tolerated for the lamina with optimum orientation, considering all possible modes of failure and a load factor α = 1.0.
