Using the web-based GSS analysis engine at the University of California-Berkeley (https://csa.berkeley.edu:7502/archive.htm) please provide written answers to each of the following questions, and attach copies of your output.
Limit your analysis to year 1990 (use "filters" option).
1. Compute the mean of EDUC as the average years of schooling for all Americans in year 1990.
2. How does the mean of EDUC vary by race?
3.. Compute the correlation coefficients between EDUC and PAEDUC, between EDUC and MAEDUC, and between MAEDUC and PAEDUC. Interpret your results.
4. Recode the variable EDUC so that it has the following three categories: less than high school (less than 12 years of schooling), high school (12 years of schooling), and college (more than 12 years of schooling). Using the recoded variable of education, do a crosstab to show if the subjective class identification (variable name = CLASS) varies with education. Interpret your results.
