Managing Change Paper:
Instructions: Over the course of this class, you will develop a comprehensive Managing Change Paper. Each week, you will add more elements to this paper. By the final week, you will have a cumulative paper that addresses the complete change cycle.
PART I:
1. Select an organization: Everest College
2. Identify a specific change that you feel should occur in the selected organization:
• Instructors should not be held accountable for students dropping the program because of personal circumstances that have nothing to do with the instructor.
3. Create a 1,400- to 1,900 word paper
• Describing the specific change that needs to occur within the cycle of change: Preparing, Implementing and Sustaining
• Compare and contrast continuous and discontinuous change
• Label the change in this scenario as continuous or discontinuous and why
Examples:
Continuous change: planned, incremental, proactive, initiated by the organization.
Discontinuous change: unplanned, radical, reactive, unforeseen, imposed upon the organization by external forces
• Differentiate between the two types of change agents: Human and non-human
• Describe how one or both can be used in this scenario.
Examples:
Human: people affiliated with the organization
Non-human: government, market, economy, forces outside the organization
