Communities of practice are generally organic in nature and can’t be forced into existence (Sense, 2015). In order to better understand the problems in creating a successful community of practice it must first be defined. A community of practice can be defined as a group of people who are concerned about the same topic or a set of problems, who come together in order to share their knowledge in order to gain a better understanding or to find a solution to issues (Sense, 2015). A community of practice should be supported and encouraged but never forced (Sense, 2015).
