COMMON DISEASE OF CATTLE & BUFFALOES -
1. Anthrax -
Its symptoms are high temp, painless & warmthless swellings on different body parts.
Bloody discharge from natural openings. Infected animals may die within 10-36 hrs.
Note :- Anthrax spores can be used in Bio-war.
2. BLACK QURTER -
It is soil born infection, generally appears in monsoon season.
Common symptoms are rise in temp., painful & warm swellings on muscular regions, lameness & dry black skin on affected area. Animal dies within a few days.
3. FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE -
It causes great reduction in milk yield.
Common symptoms are fever, retarted rumination, ulceration in mouth & in the cleft of hooves.
4. HAEMORRHAGIC SEPTICAEMIA -
Common in rainy season.
Common symptoms are high fever, reddened mucous membranes, dribbling of saliva. Painful warm & hot swelling of throat, difficult breathing.
Death occur in within few hrs.
5. MASTITIS -
It is causing painful inflamation of udder, fever & watery or blood tinged milk are other symptoms.
6. RINDER PEST (CATTLE PLAGUE) -
Its main symptoms are fever, ulceration in the mouth, thick discharge from the eyes & mouth, shooting diarrhoea with characteristic offensive smell.
7. TUBERCLOSSIS -
Bacterial disease.
8. TYMPANITIS -
Breathing becomes difficult due to pressure of bloated rumen against the lungs.
