Journalism:
Listen to an hour of an edition of NPR’s All Things Considered, Morning Edition (both on WMFE-FM 90.7) or an NPR news related podcast. Record and listen to a news broadcast on the same day on the commercial radio station of your choice. Note what stories are covered, how much time is given to a story, and the manner (style) in which those stories are covered. Compare/contrast the styles of journalism evident in each of the broadcasts. Which do you like better and why? What might account for the differences? Which do you think does a better job of covering the important news of the day and why do you think that? Be certain that you use specific examples from the broadcasts to support your comparison and conclusions. Also, be certain to document the day, programs, and stations you listened to in your paper.
