Assignment Problem: For me, one of the most interesting lines in Michael Pollan's book is that line from the introduction: "The way we eat represents our most profound engagement with the natural world." I've been thinking about that line for 10 years, since I first read the book, and I am still not sure whether I agree or not. (But I'm pretty sure that I agree.)
Either comment on that line, or on Pollan's claim that Industrial Agriculture is not bad just because it is environmentally unsustainable - but also because it radically disconnects us from the natural world.
