Cobalt was utilized as an internal standard to analyze a sample of titanium with atomic absorption spectroscopy. A mixture was ready by combining a 5.00ml Ti solution of unknown concentration with 1.00 ml of a 13.9ug/ml solution of Co. The atomic absorpbances were measured as 0.140 and 0.214 for Ti and Co, respectively. As a reference a standard mixture containing 1.58ug Co/ml and 1.76ug Ti/ml was prepared as well as measured to have a signal-to-signal ratio of 2.69 Ti 1.00 Co. Find out the concentration (moles/L) of titanium in the original unknown solution.
