Choose a company; this should be a company with an online presence (it can also have an in-store component) and should be a for-profit entity.
Once you have a company, do some research on it, focusing on its marketing strategies. Then:
1) In paper #1, describe the company's current internet marketing strategies. I DO NOT need a company history, just tell me its key products and how it uses its online presence to effectively reach customers and manage customer relationships. You should also look for areas of weakness and write your preliminary thoughts about how you would address them. This paper should be 2-3 pages.
2) In paper #2, apply the concepts we've studied to date (we will be roughly 2/3 of the way through the course) to the company. Specifically, look for ways to address the company's weaknesses through strategies that we've studied. You may have to do some digging if you want to talk about SEO and other inner workings of the company. If you can't find what you need, don't worry; there is more than enough to cover with public information. This paper should be 3-4 pages.
