Homework
1. Draw conceptual concentration gradient lines for: a slab (solid), a cylinder (dotted), a sphere (dashed). The graph is normalized (x/d, r/R).
2. Now, using the equation of continuity, find the equation of CA(r) as a function of distance for pseudo steady state in the geometry of cylinder and a sphere (also find the function in a slab... ). The surface concentration is CA0. The diffusion is to infinite at small fractional distance from zero where the concentration equals to zero.
3. Draw the concentration profile of pseudo steady state diffusion of all three geometries: slab, sphere, and cylinder in the same normalized graph using EXCEL. (i.e., prove that your conceptual concentration curve makes sense for each geometry!)
