Channel conflict
I am trying to get an understanding of channel conflict -- horizontal and vertical conflict. These topics are extremely important. For example, a sporting goods retail owner said, "We don't carry certain brands, such as Patagonia, because customers can come to our store, try on clothes
and inspect the merchandise - and then buy online for a cheaper price!" That's an example of horizontal conflict.
Or let's say a Subway Franchise owner decides to offer a new kind of sandwich. The parent company terminates the franchise contract. That's vertical conflict.
Both types of conflict have serious financial and legal implications, so you need to understand what's going on.
Give an example of each type of conflict (one horizontal and one vertical)????
