These are minute pieces along with cutting edges and mechanically jointed or brazed to tool shank. This Carbide tool tips are generated by process of powder metallurgy via sintering the powder carbides of Ti, Ta, and W in Co powder. The contents are 40- 95% is WC, 3-30% is Co, 0-30% is TaC and TiC and hardness of tips is in excess of 65 RC compared to 60 RC of stellite. High compressive strength, high hardness at high temperatures is the major characteristics.
