Identify the two errors in this statement: "Cells from a benign lung tumor that has metastasized to the liver no longer make any lung-specific proteins."
This is what I said: 1. Benign tumor cells do not metastasize. They do not have the capabilities to undergo epithelium to mesenchymal transition and metastasize through the blood vessel or lymph vessel to a new location. Since they are benign they remain as a neoplastic mass in a single location.
2. Even though the lung tumor metastasized to the liver they still make lung-specific proteins. I tried to look for more on this, but can't find it. I want to expand on my reasoning for this one.
