Case study - Rod’s Delights
Annie has just completed her undergraduate studies in Marketing. Unlike most of her friends, she is not looking for job in Mauritius. She wants to return to her native island, Rodrigues, and work for herself. Her intention to start a small business is driven, above all, by her desire to generate additional employment and wealth in her locality. Essential research recently undertaken by Annie revealed an exceptional business opportunity in the food sector. Rodriguan entrepreneurs are well-known for the delicious pickles and jam they produce. However, to date, very few of them have really been successful in properly marketing these foods. Annie therefore wants to procure generic pickles and jam from these ladies, develop a brand (“Rod’s Delights”), and, market potted preserves in Mauritius.
