After reading your post I found a case study of a male that had schizophrenia onset at the age of 18 and had been using cannabis daily and had multiple hospital admissions with positive symptoms of paranoia and disruptive behaviors. They note that at some point he switched to using K2 or synthetic cannabis 3-4 times a week and his symptoms were notably negative symptoms with withdrawn behavior, lack of motivation for social activities, and finally devolved into an inability to maintain basic activities of daily living. The author notes that there is evidence of an elevated risk of psychosis with chronic use of cannabis. They note that more studies on the effects of K2 are needed (Satodiya & Palekar, 2020).
