Case-studies have been on the decline in criminology as modern research tends to focus more on quantitative analysis. However, many times when we think of a particular crime we picture one heinous example. For example, when thinking of a school shooting one might still be fascinated by the tale of Columbine High School even though there have been many similar incidents since.
For this week’s discussion, I want you to do address the following: If you were to do a case study on any criminal throughout history, who would it be and why? Second-in researching this particular criminal or crime, how would you try to convert their story into a modern quantitative analysis?
