Problem1. The aim is to capture English language vowels and find out the first and second formants of those vowels. Formants are bands of “intense” sound in sound spectrograms. You must find out the characteristic frequency of those formants by estimating the middle of those bands. Plot captured values on graph presented on slide 32 of the handouts for lecture 5. We want to see whether our vowels fall in the range suggested on that graph. To produce a variety of vowels speak out the following words:
Please create a small table that lists each vowel and its two formant frequencies. Collect all values and put them on one graph. Pronounce each word many times (5) and record respective formant values.
