HERE is where you use the document and engage with it directly. I don't recommend quoting documents in the introduction because there your job is to lay out YOUR argument. In the body paragraphs you then SHOW me that that argument is solid by using the document. So use a quote from the document to SHOW what you say it does in paragraph 1 Paragraph 3: Support Your Argument 2
Do the same thing you did in the last paragraph. One thing students don't always realize is that each paragraph in an essay has a purpose. The body paragraphs should each be supporting an aspect of your thesis. So if you supported in paragraph 2 HOW the author you chose articulated the master narrative I would suggest in this paragraph supporting why this is important. But make sure you're not saying the exact same thing in this paragraph that you did in paragraph 2 and, make sure you try to use a different quote from the document to make your point.
Paragraph 4: Conclusion
You're almost done! BUT, you can't just stop without tying things up. And that's exactly what you have to do now. Essentially, you restate your argument in the conclusion and restate why it's important. Now that you've also SUPPORTED your argument in the body paragraphs you can point to the larger significance of the document (as you see it). But be careful not to introduce something new in the conclusion. Conclusion are NOT the place to introduce topics or support your argument. It's the place to reiterate what you did in your essay.
