In a 550 to 600 words essay, answer the following questions to reflect on the topic of this course this semester
a) Was your knowledge of the history of slavery and the abolitionist movement of the 1830s in the United States, as well as of what happened after Emancipation (think of the documentary Slavery by Another Name), impacted/enhanced by the content (readings, videos, conferences, images) you observed and analyzed in this course this semester? Expand on how your knowledge was or was not impacted.
b) Can you identify recent or current social conflicts that remind you in any way of the struggles and challenges of the abolitionists of the 1830s?
c) Are there lessons we can learn from the abolitionists of the 1830s that can help us improve as a society in dealing with some of the social issues we are facing today?
