It is said that you can’t un-ring a bell, and you can’t put the genie back in the bottle. Early onset usage (pre/early adolescent) of drugs/alcohol is one of the best predictors of emerging adult/adult problematic substance use. Question is:can the same be said for adolescent sexuality? Are kids learning too much too early? Are pre/early adolescents developmentally (emotionally mature) prepared to deal with access to porn and social media? Is adolescent sexuality being corrupted by internet porn? Do adolescent girls feel pressure to “behave like a porn star?” Has the internet and social media changed sexual scripts for adolescents? (You don’t have to answer all of these questions, but use some of them to frame your posting).
