Problem
Many elderly people will succomb to coma-like states in their final years as they decline into neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.
• Can society afford long-term care for millions of such people?
• Is there a morally relevant difference between such care for a 90-year-old with dementia and a 25-year-old in PVS? (I asked this before but someone did not really answer these two questions. Answer these two questions specifically.)
