Can individual be influenced to kill by playing video games

ProblemProblem: On April 20, 1999 Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High school and killed fifteen people (including themselves). After the incident, people tried to place blame on someone or something. One reporter set out to place blame on the violent video game industry as both boys were extremely pre-occupied with first-person shooter games.

Can an individual be influenced to kill just by playing video games? Why or why not?

What other social-learning factors come into play?

Can and/or should the gaming industry be held responsible? Why or why not?
