Project: Validation of Aerodynamics Performance and Stability for LET410

1) Calculation of the aerodynamics Performance for LET410 by calculating the total drag at different weight ratios and weather conditions in all flight phases i.e. take off distance, climb, cruise, decent, landing and range/endurance

2) Calculation of LET410 maneuvers then the plot results on n-v diagram.

3) Computation of the Stability of LET410 i.e. computation of the static and dynamic stabilities.

4) Validation of the results obtained with LET 410 aircraft manufacturer manual.

In order to achieve the above objectives the following activities should be performed.

For objective 1:

1.1 Proposal of the theory of the aerodynamics performance of LET410 which includes:

  • Take off distance
  • Climb
  • Cruise
  • Descent
  • Landing
  • Rang/endurance.

1.2 Flight manual (manufacturer published manual) which includes all the performance characteristics of LET410 is to be used.

1.3 Calculate of the total drag for each performance which was mentioned in activity No. 1-1. The total drag includes induced drag and the parasite drag (skin friction drag).

For objective 2:

2.1 Calculate the lift at different speeds.

2.2 The weight of LET410 which is found in the flight manual is to be used to plot the n-v diagram.

2.3 Compute he load factor (n) for LET410.

2.4 Use the lift vs. drag curve to calculate the minimum, maximum and stall velocities.

For objective 3:

3.1 Determine the central of gravity (c.g) of LET410 aircraft using the flight manual.

3.2 Calculate the moment around x, y, and z axises.

3.3 DAT.com program is to be used in order to investigate the stability Derivatives.
