Question - I'm doing an enzymology lab report, and have calculated the catalytic efficiency (Kcat/Km) of alcohol dehydrogenase for ethanol to be 90.7 1/M s. However, the maximum possibility for an enzyme is 10^8 -- 10^9 1/M s, so my calculated value seems awfully low. Can anyone give insight as to whether this seems correct or completely off?
I need proficient help to explain each and every step in detail of the above problems.
