At the moment when the valves are closed on the radiator of a steam-heating system, the radiator contains saturated vapor at 9.3 psig. The radiator has an internal volume of 1.3 ft3, and the pressure within the radiator eventually drops to ?0.7 psig as a result of heat transfer to the surroundings.
i. Sketch the process described above on a P-v diagram relative to the satu- ration region.
ii. Determine the final temperature of the steam.
iii. Calculate the volume and the mass of liquid in the radiator at the end of the process.
iv. Calculate the heat transfer from the steam.
