Problem

A PMAC machine A connected through an inverter to a DC source of 600V. Me-chmically it is connected to a Diesel engine.

1. The engine is operating at 1600 rpm, producing 45kW power, with the elecbical machine operating as a generator. Calculate the stator current of the PMAC machine, its voltage and frequency, and the modulation index and DC current of the inverter for minimal stator losses.

2. The PMAC machine is also used as a motor to start the engine, by turning it with a torque of 1801Vm up to 200 rpm. For this operating point, calculate the current and voltage of the PMAC motor, the modulation index, and DC current.

3. If the PMAC machine is to operate as a motor, at the torque of case I, end at 600V DC, what is the maximum speed it can operate?
