Calculate the rate of heat transfer from or to the turbine


At steady state a turbine is fed with 2 kg/s of steam that has a pressure of 4 MPa and a temperature of 500 C . Saturated vapor exits the turbine at 0.5 MPa. The turbine produces power (work) at the rate of 1 MW. Calculate: (a) The rate of heat transfer from or to the turbine in kW; (b) The rate of entropy production (in kW/K), if the heat transfer between the turbine and its surroundings occurs at 30C.
