Due to his negligence his automobile collides with another automobile, so that auto hits a light pole containing an electric transformer. The light pole strikes a pedestrian, Sam, injuring him severely. When the transformer hits the ground, it causes a short-circuit, which causes electricity to go out for two days in two-state area, New York and Connecticut, which has many business establishments and residential housing. Al is sued by Sam, the business establishments (who lose profits), and home owners (whose food goes bad). For what damages is Al liable? Give legal reasons for your answer based on the law of negligence.
