IDENTIFY a current or historical social movement that interests you. Ensure that it meets the definition of a social movement pursuant to the class text.
1. Briefly DESCRIBE the social movement and its objectives or political positions.
2. Which sociological theory best fits this movement- relative deprivation or resource mobilization? Why?
3. SELECT one of the three sociological perspectives- Functionalism, Conflict Theory, or Symbolic Interactionist- and DESCRIBE how the social movement would be viewed through the selected theory.

1. What is the class text definition of a group?
2. Identify one group that interests you. How does this group meet the definition that you provided above?
3. How would each of the three major sociological perspectives (Functionalist, Conflict Theory, and Symbolic-Interactionist) view this group?
