Jing suffers from a rare disease for which she takes regular medication. She is blind in one eye and wears strong glasses. Over the years she has become profoundly depressed.
Several months ago Jing began a relationship with Hue, a violent man whom she now fears. One day on the street, a young man named Zul makes a disparaging remark about her disability and shouts that Hue "looks like an idiot'.
Enraged, Jing takes out a knife she always carries in her handbag and stabs him through the heart. That night at home, in one of her state of depression, she pours lighter fluid over Hue whilst he is sleeping. Both Hue and Zul die the next morning.
