Business Strategy Assessment - Critical Review of Journal Articles
ASSESSMENT DESCRIPTION: This assessment task involves reviewing Five (out of seven) preselected journal articles. EBSCO links for the journal articles will be provided in Moodle. Students are required to write critical reviews for each of the 5 journal articles. The submission involves a formal style of writing and the word limit for each critique should be between 300 to 500 words. There are number of approaches to express your opinion of the works you will be reviewing. These could include (not limited to):
- Stating your own position
- Stating the view of the author
- Drawing a conclusion using the works of others
- Agreeing with the views of others or pointing out assumptions
Discuss the key areas addressed in the journal article.
Identifying the knowledge gap addressed in the journal article.
Identifying the key findings of the journal article.
Discuss the academic and managerial contributions made by the journal article.
Review Format -
Title of the Article
Date of Publication/Volume and Issue
Author/s Names
Purpose: What does the article set out to do? In other words what is the objective of the author?
Theory: Does the article use any theoretical framework related to Business Strategy? If yes, explain the framework briefly. What are the strengths and weakness of the framework?
Methodology: What methodology have the authors used to collect data? Is the article cross cultural? If yes please explain why you think it is cross cultural.
