Blood groups are based on antigens.

- Discovered by Leindsteiner. O group was discovered by De cestello and sturli.

2. RH SYSTEM -
- Discovered by Leindsteiner & Winner. Race and Taylor worked in it. Rh factor comes from Rhehsus monkey.
- If Rh factor present Rh positive 97% in India and 80% in world.
- If Rh factor absent Rh negative 3% in India and 20% in world.
- If Rh positive blood is given to Rh negative person, first time no agglutination second time death occur.
- If Rh negative mother is having Rh positive embryo, disease is erythroblastois foetalis (explained by Lavina, Leindsteiner & Winner).
