Assignment task: You are a first-year student nurse working in a primary healthcare setting. Your clinical placement involves providing care to a diverse community with varying healthcare needs across the lifespan. You have been assigned to care for Michael, a 57-year-old Caucasian male who has recently been diagnosed with Heart Failure. Michael has a past medical history of smoking (he stopped 10 years ago) and heavy alcohol consumption (30+ units per week). His BMI is 35. Michael does not exercise often but he takes care of his grandchildren a few days per week and works part time stacking shelves in a supermarket.

He used to enjoy walking but he doesn't have the energy to do anymore. His diet consists of high fat and high carbohydrate foods and he likes sugary drinks.
